From the cart to the fleet of walking floor trucks: Transports Porqueres and its legacy of excellence in road freight transport in its 63-year history
At Transports Porqueres, SAU, we are dedicated to road transport, specifically in bulk and/or palletized full loads for the national territory and within the EU. Our main specialization is in walking floor transport, although we also have tautliners, tankers, and bathtubs in our fleet. Currently, we have a large fleet of trucks and a great number of collaborators. However, this success has been the result of a path full of dedication and effort.
Although the company was founded in 1960, its roots go back to the 1940s when Joan Ferrer, a resident of Usall (Porqueres), began transporting firewood from the forest to Banyoles using the family cart. The proposal to buy a truck from one of his clients in 1960 marked the formal beginning of the company. With the acquisition of this second-hand truck, Joan and his wife, Rosenda, took the first step towards creating the family business we now know as Transports Porqueres.
Over time and overcoming many challenges, they continued to expand the business until they had six trucks in their fleet. Not only did they expand their fleet but also involved their son, Salvador, from a very young age.
The culmination of the family's journey was in 1986 when the second generation of the family, Salvador and his wife Rosa, established Transports Porqueres S.A. Together with a trusted team and the incorporation of the third generation of the family, the company has managed to adapt to market and societal changes, achieving an extensive fleet of trucks mainly with walking floors and a solid portfolio of collaborators.
This year, 2023, we celebrate 63 years of history, and nothing excites us more than sharing it with you. We are deeply grateful for the collaboration of all those who have contributed to our success and growth over the years. At Transports Porqueres, we always strive to exceed expectations and provide exceptional service to our clients and collaborators.
